The Amarillo Symphony announces the following vacancies for the 2018-2019 Season. Please click on the links below for vacancy details and audition excerpts:

Principal Cello applications must be submitted to the Director of Operations no later than Friday, August 3, 2018 (via email preferred). A select number of Principal Cello candidates will be invited to perform an Amarillo Symphony subscription concert and live audition during the 2018-2019 season.
Section wind and string auditions will be held in Amarillo, Texas on Saturday, August 25, 2018. If necessary, additional auditions may be scheduled on Sunday, August 26, 2018. Section audition candidates must register for an audition with the Director of Operations no later than Friday, August 17, 2018.
Substitute string auditions will be held in Lubbock, TX on Friday, August 24 from 10 AM-4 PM in the TTU Music Building, Classroom 214. To reserve an audition time, please send a one-page resume (email/PDF preferred) to the Director of Operations no later than Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Candidates are free to perform either from the Amarillo Symphony or TTU/LSO audition excerpt lists.

Should an audition result in additional openings within a section, the Audition Committee reserves the right to name a winner for the vacated seat based on the auditions heard for the posted vacancy.
In the event that the Audition Committee deems that two or more candidates are artistically comparable, the Amarillo Symphony reserves the right to use information concerning an applicant’s distance from Amarillo and season availability to determine the winner of an audition.
