Young Artist Project
To date over 50 students have benefited from this innovative project!
In 2012, the Amarillo Symphony Guild began a program to provide private music instruction to gifted young students. Local band and orchestra directors are invited each spring to identify and select potential scholarship candidates and provide them with the current Young Artist Project application. The completed application is submitted to the Guild along with a personal letter from the applicant explaining why he/she wishes to be considered for private music lessons, as well as a letter of recommendation from their teacher. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee consisting of Guild members, the Executive Director of the Symphony, and an Amarillo Symphony musician. We invite you to join us in this exciting project by supporting the Guild and its fundraising efforts. Since its inception, more than 40 students have benefited from this innovative project.
